Server Installation Problems
If you get an error after installing ROBOTILL during the database installation or setup process,
the ROBOTILL Database Setup Wizard will display an error message.
You can also save an Install Error Log with more details about the failed installation.
Depending on the error message you receive, follow the instructions below to resolve the problem.
SSL/TLS Secure Channel Issue
If you receive an error such as “Download Failed – Could not create SSL/TLS secure channel”,
it means your PC is not up to date with the required internet security protocols.
If you are using Windows 10 or Windows 11, install all outstanding Windows updates
and then try again.
Windows 7 is no longer supported by Microsoft and does not receive the required updates.
You will need to upgrade to Windows 10 or Windows 11.
If you prefer to stay on Windows 7, you can try manually installing
SQL Server Express 2014 (which supports Windows 7) by following the
instructions for a direct SQL Server install.
Instance Already Installed Error
If the Install Error Log shows an error such as
“Resources already installed” or “Computer restart required” or
Instance name 'ROBOTILL' is already in use,
follow the steps below.
- Restart your computer — do not skip this step.
-
Start the Database Setup Wizard directly:
- Type Database Setup in the Windows search bar and select ROBOTILL Database Setup Wizard, or
- Go to All Apps → ROBOTILL → ROBOTILL Database Setup.
- Select Start Setup, then select Main Computer.
- Select I have already installed SQL Server on this computer.
-
From the drop-down menu, select the option indicating that the Database Setup Wizard
previously installed SQL Server for you (unless it did not).
- Click Next. The installation should now complete.
'redtill' Files Issue
If you receive the error “Cannot create file '...\redtill.mdf'”,
it means there was a previous ROBOTILL installation and that the database or SQL Server
installation did not complete correctly.
Go to the folder mentioned in the error message (for example:
C:\Program Files\Microsoft SQL Server\MSSQL12.ROBOTILL\MSSQL\DATA or a similar path)
and delete only the following two files:
- redtill.mdf
- redtill_log.ldf
After deleting the files, follow the steps under
Instance already installed.
