Restaurant - Quick Start Guide
Getting Started
You can watch the video or follow the instructions below.
Step 1: Setting up your Restaurant
Open ROBOTILL Back Office. If you haven't changed your password yet,
the username is 'admin' and the password is 'password'.
The Restaurant module (also used for Bars and Fast Food stores), uses Categories to group products together.
You use Categories to create your menu items. Examples for Categories can be 'Breakfast Menu', Lunch Menu',
'Hot Drinks', 'Spirits', 'Shooters', etc. To get started we will just add one Category 'Breakfast Menu'.
Go to 'Home' > 'Setup and Settings' > 'Categrories'. Click on 'New'
Add a category called 'Breakfast Menu.
Step 2: Add a waiter
If you don't use waiters or if you want to change how cashiers and waiters work, you can change it in
Restaurant Settings.
For now, let's just create one waiter. Go to ROBOTILL Back Office. Home > Setup and Settings > Users. Click on 'New'.
Enter a username and a PIN of 55555 (you can use any number). The name and surname is optional.
Click on 'Create This User'.
Step 3: Add a product to sell
We now need to add at least one item that we can sell. Go to ROBOTILL Back Office. Home > Products and Stock > Products.
Click on 'New'.
We will create a 'Sunrise Breakfast' product for our Breakfast category. Enter the name and a unique stock code (can just be a shorter version of the description). Select the new 'Breakfast Menu' category and click on 'Create this Product'.
Once the product has been created, more options will become available. Click on 'Product Prices' and enter the price.
Once an item has been created in ROBOTILL, there is no 'Save Button' as your changes are saved as you work.

That's it! You are now ready for your first sale.
Step 4: Do your first sale
You can leave ROBOTILL Manager open or close it. It does not need to be open when you are doing sales.
We will use our admin user as our cashier and select our waiter John as our waiter (if you chose to use waiters).
Open ROBOTILL Restaurant. Click on 'Login' and enter 12345 (your default admin user PIN).
Once you are logged in you need to select a table for your first customer.
Click on 'Select Table'. At this stage, there will only be one table (you can
add tables and set up your floor plan later),
click or touch 'Default Table' on the floor plan and then click on 'Select Table'.
If you chose to use waiters, you will then be asked to select a waiter. Click on 'John' to select
John as our waiter for this table.
You will notice that our selected waiter and table is displayed on top of the screen. You can now click on
the Breakfast Menu and then on the Sunrise Breakfast product to add it to your first sale.
You can increase the quantity by pressing the PAGE-UP button or you can click on the QTY button below the sale items.
There is a lot more we can do (print the order, print an intermediate bill, add a tip,
add more items and split the bill, etc),
but for now we will just complete the sale. Click on Pay or press F5.
Enter an amount of 100 (just to see how change is displayed) and press ENTER or click on 'Cash'. Note that
a customer can use more than one method to pay for a single sale.
The amount tendered and change will be displayed.
That is it! You completed your first sale!
